Caring for Your Acoustic Guitar

A properly set-up acoustic guitar will sound better, and stay looking and sounding great for decades. Here are a few tricks we pass on to everyone purchasing a new instrument:

Keep your guitar out of direct sunlight, near heaters and vents, examples of rapid changes in temperature and humidity that can bend the neck or crack the top.

Always wipe down your strings and body after each session. Doing so will ensure that your hardware isn’t rotting and your tone isn’t being dulled due to dust and sweat.

String changes In comes about a great idea to change strings as a matter of routine. A time limit of about 2 or 3 months is suggested for regular players playing a medium number of hours per day. This helps to maintain good intonation and brightness of tone.

Bring your guitar in a hard case or a padded gig bag when you go places, particularly when traveling from city to city or during humid monsoon seasons.

Have your action and intonation inspected regularly, especially when you change strings or go through seasonal humidity variations.

Happy to take first time users through some basic setup and maintenance at the point of sale. Later on, I am happy to answer questions by email about anything related to care of our products.
